Job Summary:

As a Mechanic B at Blue Star Services, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of rental equipment, including heavy machinery, vehicles, and small tools. This position requires proficiency in diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing parts, and ensuring all equipment is safe, operational, and ready for rental. You will work under the supervision of the Service Manager and Operations Manager to ensure all equipment meets company standards and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school or technical certifications in mechanics or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a mechanic or technician working with heavy equipment, vehicles, or machinery.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to repair, maintain, and service a wide range of equipment types (including but not limited to forklifts, generators, backhoes, aerial lifts, and bulldozers).
• Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., OBDII scanners, multi-meters, pressure gauges).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions (outside work may be required).
• Standard set of personal hand tools required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with rental or fleet equipment.
• Familiarity with company-specific equipment or proprietary machinery.
• Certification in OSHA safety standards and/or first aid/CPR.
• Welding or fabrication skills.
