The Product Specialist will be considered a resident specialist and primarily work from home. Must be able to work unsupervised. The coverage area and ideal locations for a person to be located would be somewhere around the Charlotte or Asheville areas or in the upper S.C area.

This individual will provide Technical and Mechanical expertise on Wirtgen / Vogele equipment line AND OR our Kleemann Products. Our plan is to hire two separate product experts unless we find one person that can handle both.
Equally as important is the ability to build long-term relationships within the territory to maximize company profitability and market share. This individual will be expected to specialize in these equipment lines in order to provide support to the sales professionals and customers on the products. While technicians will be dispatched on all larger repair jobs some light mechanic duties will be required.
Again we are looking for Two people Wirtgen / Vogele and Kleemann products.
Responsibilities: This role will deal with a wide range of issues and the responsibilities below are just a guideline and some may not apply and some may not be listed.
•These individuals will provide product expertise on Witrgen / Vogele / Kleemann equipment and build long term relationships within the territory to maximize company profitability and market share
•This individual will be expected to specialize in the equipment lines in order to demo products and provide support to the sales professionals and customers on the products
••Develop relationships and network throughout the industry to monitor and participate in all product activities
•Know the market; where future work will be done, where it is currently being done, and by whom
•Develop an open and "real-time" channel of communication throughout the industry
•Be recognized as a solutions provider and a wealth of expertise for our customers
•Create opportunities by evaluating customer fleets and techniques, and proactively propose better solutions
•Schedule and perform product demonstrations and technical presentations
•Deliver all new machines and provide onsite operation and maintenance training
•Regularly follow up with customer's deliveries to insure they remain fully trained, well supported, and highly satisfied with our products and services
•Communicate regularly with the store/branch managers and full-line sales professionals to share information on activity within their regions
•Be a primary channel of communication for product technical and commercial issues with our manufacturing partners
•Be an active and highly visible participant in industry groups and events and keep abreast of competitive activity and competitive products
•Always seek additional sales, parts, and service opportunities for the company and report those prospects to the appropriate parties
•Provide training for our customers and employees, which includes continual education on developments for our product line, as well as that of our competitors
•Assist customers with parts, service, and repair requirements
•Coordinate delivery and pickup of equipment as needed by the customer
•Prepare reports for business transactions and keep expense accounts
•Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
•Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of RDO Equipment Co
•Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
•Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts
•Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
•Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
Technician and repair skills on these products
Must be able to work independently
Good understanding of local market conditions
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong knowledge of Wirtgen Road Building and crushing equipment
Strong knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of heavy construction equipment
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment
Strong focus on customer service
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet and office machines
Candidates will possess strong technical aptitude in Wirtgen equipment and have the ability to travel to multiple locations to share their expertise
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance
